In comparison to whites, blacks and other minority groups experience more negative occurrences when it comes to health care in the U.S. These occurrences, date all the way back to the 1900s and although they have been improved somewhat, measures have not been taken for all ethnicities to insure equal and proper health care. I feel as though when you become a doctor that equal treatment for everyone despite race is something you are obligated to do but when placed in a race-based worth society that determines social, political, and economic structures, it becomes a lot harder to do because of prejudices rooted in others. When it comes to minorities, there are noticeable differences in access to healthy food, safe and clean homes, and proper education. Since movements such as Black Lives Matter are becoming well known and supported, more calls are being made to address this imbalance and bias of certain races and ethnic groups. In order to detest and fight racist and discriminatory societies such as those in the U.S, we need to take into consideration how what we say, do, and act towards others can affect their choices as to how they feel and act towards minority groups and their own groups as well. Educating others on their biases and roles in society, as well as being used to having to respect and be open towards minority groups can teach us how to eliminate the same problem together. I feel like we need to learn to be a one for all and all for one system where we are able to obtain peace and work as a unit. After all, would we rather have minorities that share the same world as us, dead or alive?
